Feed Hungry Families

Thanks to the Buhr Foundation we have an opportunity to raise $30,000 to feed families in need. Every donation we receive for the food pantry will be matched dollar for dollar up to $15,000 from now until Giving Tuesday on November 28.

Here in Washtenaw County, the cost of housing has gone up by 10% during the last year. For families in poverty, it is getting harder to pay for housing, food, and other basic necessities. A visit to SOS's food pantry to stock up on groceries means a great deal to a family who isn't sure where their next meal will come from.

SOS's food program offers families enough food to make several healthy meals that they can eat together at home.

It only costs $3.45 to give one family enough groceries to feed each family member for one day.

• Your donation of $100, once matched, will feed 57 families.
• Your donation of $50, once matched, will feed 28 families.

About the SOS Food Pantry:

Last year, with your help we responded to 34,318 food requests, providing 364,157 pounds of food. Families can access SOS's food pantry up to twelve times per year with a weekly appointment, or get available fresh produce anytime when the Resource Center is open.

The SOS food pantry offers rescued food from Food Gatherers as well as food donated by the community.
